Message From The President
On behalf of the Atlanta Chapter of the Akwa Ibom State Association of Nigeria (USA), Inc., I welcome you to our portal. This portal will inform you of all you need to know about our organization.
I was elected in May 2007 and re-elected in May 2008 for a second term. Based on our constitution, I can
not serve more than 2 terms. My final term will expire in May 2009. I came into power with the
following promises and I am glad I have kept every one of them:
- To increase funds available for the Akwa Ibom House Project
- To increase membership
- To spread the news of our organization to a global audience, via the internet
My chapter has always represented the assoction well. I am proud of the fact that we
can boast of the following accomplishments:
- The first chapter to have its own property - Akwa Ibom House
- The only chapter to win the most "Miss Akwa Ibom" competitions
Please feel free to peruse our site and to tell a friend/family member about us. Though this site is primarily aimed at Akwa Ibom Indigenes in the Atlanta area, I look forward to this site being the watering hole for all Akwa Ibomites worldwide. To achieve this purpose, we will add various features over time that will encourage social networking as well as online and offline collaboration (Picture of the week, photo galleries, members section, etc).
